PreChristmas Traditions and Festivities

As a family we like to tour the city in Doug and LaDonna's motorhome...its a tradition thats been going on for quite some time about 6 years if I think hard about it! Here's some pics.

Snow Day and Girls Night Out

A couple of weeks ago we got a few inches of snow. Kaitlynn and I took advantage of it. We went out to do some sledding and snow angels.

Later on that evening Kaitlynn and I went to check out the Botanical Gardens Winter a Glow. It was a girls nite out! It was nice to be able to walk around and hang out together. She stopped to say hi to santa and see his raindeer.

Crazy for some knit

Ok I have to admit that I helped this one start...but its kind of funny. My dad is always looking for something to do and to donate his time. (he's retired and off the 'road' now)! So I told him that the World Special Olympics were coming to Boise in Jan. 2009 and I THOUGHT that they needed some knit hats...well that is all that I had to say to him! He learned how to knit and 10 hats later he called me to see if I knew any details on how the hats needed to be prepared. WELL... I didn't know but I called and come to find out they didn't need hats they needed RED skarfs and they already had enough! Well a little heartbroken he found some other worthy causes and he's been knitting ever since. I told him to do some up for the kids!! They love them!
(sorry dad I have to blog for you!) I tell everyone that comments on their fine pieces that my dad did them! Its great!
Sis proudly sharing her skarf!

Brother lovin' his new hat!

So, Dad is the newest knitter in the family.

Next we have Rosita! We love her knitting and crocheting. She has been busy knitting away since she has moved into her new house! We did an early Christmas at Michael D and Rosita's house and we were all blessed with a new skarf, hat or so! Kaitlynn just loves her new dress, she now has a new princess dress! aka the 'Rosita dress'.

Rachel's new blue knit shirt, Andrew sporting his new hat too, Rosita checking the fit!

Mom got a cell phone cover, Kaitlynn in on the action with her new skarf and dress

Dad and brother got matching hats, I got a hat and skarf the night before (not pictured).

Well thats all for tonight, more to come on from Christmas and so on!

Love you all!

Merry Christmas

HI Everybody!
Well, we are doing well here. Its been a super long time since I have logged in to up date. I will say that I have a few excuses. 1) The computer is in Joshua's room and he doesn't like me in there when he is trying to sleep (and that is about the only time I can do computer work)! 2) We have a virus on the computer...so beware of the 2009 Antivirus update! Chad is currently trying to debug it!
Where do I start? Since last time we took at trip to San Francisco. That was a quick but very packed trip. First we were there to visit my side of the family. Chad and the kids have never been to the city. We enlisted the help of dad (Tour guide extraordinaire)! We arrived on a Thursday in San Jose and meandered our way to to the city to meet up with dad. We stopped by Michael D's old house in San Mateo. We finally made it to Auntie Ruth's house. We got lost for a long time trying to get to her house. Got to love mapquest and crazy city streets! After Auntie Ruth's dad came and rescued us from driving in the city. Kaitlynn took in a park down the street from Auntie Ruth's house. She was really ready to get the wiggles out. Joshua and Kaitlynn were great travelers. Dad took us to the beach and she and Chad really got to check it out. As you might expect she was full of sand! Kaitlynn made a friend at the beach, and played with her for a little bit. We hopped into the minivan, and the tour began! Dad drove us all over town, I don't even remember all the places. He did take us to Ft. Mason, Coit Tower, Lombard Street, China Town, He/she place, and many more sites! I will have to review my pictures. We laid our head's at Grandma's house. It was soon neat to see her house just the way I remembered!
Friday led us to Pier 39 and a trip to San Jose...to see Uncle Tom and Aunt June and the Boise State / San Jose State football game! That was fun but glad that we had a get away van waiting for us when the game was over. (We won~ and they weren't to gracious home crowd).
Saturday, we made it back to Grandma's house and relaxed a bit and then Uncle Tom, Aunt June, Uncle Jerry and Yolanda came over to visit! It was great getting to see everyone again. Its been since Mike and Crystal's wedding since I've seen everyone.
Sunday still wasn't a day of rest. We were all exhausted! Dad drove his heart out! Poor guy still had to drive 2 hrs back home to Sacramento. We toured the city via car but did get to walk on the Golden Gate Bridge. The whole weekend we had excellent weather, unusually hot I might add...85+ and Sunday when we walked on the bridge it was windy and foggy! We had to get a bit of fog to experience SF!
After returning home we pretty much started in on finishing the football season and the holidays. Chad and Doug attended a few more games and did get to go to Reno the week before Thanksgiving. The broncos ended the regular season 12-0 and are heading to San Diego Poinsettia Bowl next week.
The kids and I are hanging in there pretty good. Joshua is growing so good. He is sitting up (early Nov.) and is working on his 6th tooth! He is a good baby during his teething. He likes to watch his big sister. She is quite the entertainer. Joshua is oh so close to crawling. Not even the Christmas tree is tempting enough to crawl. If I let him he will roll his way there! I can't believe that he is 9 months already!
Kaitlynn is doing so well. She loves her dance class and hanging out with us. She loves to act out her bible stories. If she had her way she would have me be a donkey to ride in the Bethlehem! Or she is playing princess...either way she is wearing her favorite dress...'the Aunt Christina' dress. (I might add that its 30 years old) LaDonna made it for Christina when she was baptized many years ago. I don't mind, it makes laundry easier! ;-)
We have been having fun making Christmas presents for our family. I have been getting my sewing machine out and trying to sew a straight line!
Chad is working hard in between his sporting events and work/drill. He is heading to Ft. Rucker Alabama after the new year for three weeks and again for two more weeks end of March.
Well that is about it in a nutshell. Keep your eyes peeled for our Christmas newsletter (its still in editing).
We hope that you have a great Christmas and a Happy and exciting New Year.

Proof of the haps!

Lots of things happening here!

Hi Everyone-
We hope that you all are doing well. Things have been great here. 1st I want to congratulate
Chad on his recent promotion to Warrant Officer 1 (WO1). He has been working toward this for seems like 3 years! He actually went to the warrant officer board right before Kaitlynn was born, then he deployed, came back and went to school during his one weekend a month for the past 5 months! WOW how time flies. He graduated from the school here at Gowen Field in August and went to Ft. McClellean, Alabama from September 5th - 20th. He said that the two weeks seemed like 3 months! It was hot and humid there! (sorry for those of you that have to live in the humidity). Spending over a year at Ft. Eustis, VA and at basic training in Columbia SC that was enough for me!! Anyway Chadman is home now and doesn't have to travel anywhere for now. He has been taking it easy this week from that hard two week schooling! We were all happy to reunite with each other.

Joshua turned 6 months too! He is a big boy already. At his check up he weighed in at 18.4 lbs. and is 27.5 inches long! I took him out of the infant car seat carrier, now he is in the big boy seat the other was killing my arm and shoulder!! ;-) He is and has been rolling over (since Kaitlynn's birthday). That is his mode of transportation if we don't carry him! He is a smiler, giggler and loves to suck on his hands/toes and what ever winds up near his mouth! I can't tell if he is getting his teeth yet, he sure acts like it but still no pearly whites! He has been eating solid foods too! (just started that this month). So far he likes it all, from sweet potatoes, to bananas, to spinach! ~ahhhrrr Popeye!

Now for Miss Kaitlynn she is a trip...she has been quite challenging on her naps/bed time but that is par for the course! On a "no nap day" she goes to bed really early and that makes for a quiet evening! We have been trying to take full advantage of the great weather. Its been in the 80's still so we are out taking walks to the park or playing in the yard if Joshua is taking his nap!! She got her first shiner this week. She had a run in with a plastic baseball bat...it looks pretty now! Like we put on purple, blue and green eyeshadow. Her eye was swelling quickly and I wanted to head home to ice it, and she was kicking and screaming because she wanted to stay and play! no matter what her ping pong sized eyebrow was looking like!! (we did make it home to get the swelling down)! Kaitlynn goes to dance class on Tuesday's and she really enjoys it. We usually stay after and play with one of her little friends. (this makes for a nap day!)

I am still enjoying staying home and playing wife, and mommy full time! I like to make it to bible study on Wednesday's both the kids are in the nursery and I get a couple of hours to be refreshed!

My sister (Rachel), brother (John) and Rachel's hubby to be Andrew moved to town this weekend. They are the new tenants in my mom's apartment on Albion. Its a cute apartment and in a good location for all kinds of things and hopefully good employment! Good luck to them on their new start in Idaho!!

Fair Time!

Little man!

riding the pony

Kaitlynn proudly wearing Chad's cowboy boots and shirt from when he was a little boy!

We always look forward to the fair. Kaitlynn especially looks forward to getting dressed up for the part and can't wait to ride the pony and milk the cow! This year Joshua was along for the ride...next year they will be quite the team! Both the kids are doing so well. Joshua is growing like crazy and squalking and biting his fingers, hands and what ever else he comes into contact with! Kaitlynn is trying to find her limits and is recognizing some letters. We are 'staying home' more often so we are able to play games etc!!

Long time no Blogging!

We've been pretty busy with summer around here. Earlier in the month of August Doug and LaDonna's large walnut tree got a huge split in one of the limbs that was over their back patio. So they requested assistance from the tree monkey...aka Mike Willis! My brother has lots of tree trimming experience and was up for the challenge! Tree monkey!
Doug on belay...the kids and LaDonna and I were safe in the house! The tree and the house are now safe from any falling branches! Thanks Mike!

On the Road to Montana via Coeur d' Alene

We had a wonderful time getting out of the Boise area. We left early Monday morning to get a head start on the long road trip. The kids were still sleeping all the way to Riggins. That was a good stop for food for all! Poor Chad had his tonsils taken out the Friday before we left...so he was on a very soft food diet...yogurt and icecream for most of the week. We stayed two days in Coeur d'Alene and checked out the area. BEAUTIFUL. We wished that we had more time and Chad could eat regular food...

Cinderella

What a difference 1 year makes!

Kaitlynn from 2 yrs to 3 yrs!

What a difference a year makes! I was getting pictures from another camera. This was Chad's camera while in Afghanistan and found all of these cute pictures! I can't believe how much she has grown. I still have so much more to post. But have already spent plenty of time on the computer this morning and Kaitlynn is watching tv...so better get to some baking! Joshua is a good trooper, he fell asleep for his mid morning nap!! I will post more soon, maybe before we head to Montana... or as Kaitlynn would say Hannah Montana!

More Birthday

The little Cinderella by her cake! It was a fun cake to decorate, as soon as we figured which candies to put on! and not to mention a lot longer to do then expected!! But well worth it! Kaitlynn was very proud! so was I ;-)

Kaitlynn hangin by Chuck E!

Big Girl!

A Walk in the Greenbelt and Birthday Girl

Out for a nice walk along the greenbelt. I love walks along the greenbelt, something about walking next to the river and nice conversation. Now that we have the double stoller we are all happy. Kaitlynn gets a smooth ride and Joshua is comfy too! I think that he was not to happy in the front carrier anylonger...

Kaitlynn helping out mommy with decorating her cake! I can't believe she is three!!
The cake made it to Chuck E. Cheese, just putting on the final touches! The princess was getting into her gown. **Our sleeping Joshua also had a big day, he rolled over for the first time!** Gave sister a present too, now his is more moble and would love to get to scooting around before you know it!

Independence Day

We don't have any pictures on either of our cameras, but will get some from one of the grandmas! We had a lovely day at Municipal Park. A little BBQ, games and family. Doug and LaDonna, my mom, Mike and Crystal, the Gredlers and Michael D (Rosita was at work)were there. After the BBQ we headed to the parade and later on watched fireworks from a new subdivision by our house. Kaitlynn was on cloud 9. She enjoyed the fireworks and was like a jumping bean, she hopped from lap to lap! We were able to watch about 3 different firework shows from our point...a lot of illegal ones by our house!

Just out for the day

We decided one day to take a drive, it was hot in town and we wanted to head for the hills. So we grabbed some sushi, snacks and we were off! We headed to Idaho City and then to the dirt road...about 25 miles worth! (Poor Blazer!) We hit Grimes Creek. It looked like a good spot to cool off and eat lunch! It was a great day. We ended up driving about 170 miles round trip. Went thru to Garden Valley and looped around to Idaho City for some good old ICE CREAM! Kaitlynn had a million questions...wish us luck on our next trip to Montana!! We WILL run out of answers!
